FX’s Legion: A New Obsession

Though FX’s brand-new hit is based on a Marvel Comics character and tied to the X-Men franchise, I’m just going to assume that you don’t know anything about the Marvel Universe. In fact, I’m even going to pretend that you have not seen any of the X-Men movies because there are no prerequisites to appreciating and obsessing over the thrilling freshness and beauty of Legion.

The story revolves around David Haller, who at an early age gets diagnosed with schizophrenia but actually has incredibly powerful psychic abilities, including telepathy and telekinesis. Every episode has been sublime and nothing short of an hour-long thrill ride so far. The show is a winner in every conceivable way, and FX just announced that they renewed the series for a second season only five episodes in. Though, there are 15 particular reasons I love it and am going to be glued to my screen for the finale* of the first season and then the premiere of the second one.
